Perched atop a small condominium building, this apartment already had a broad view of the public garden, but it lacked an exterior. We thus transformed the attic spaces into a superb terrace at the centre of the residence. The living areas and bedrooms now radiate outwards from this garden. This also necessitated a repositioning of the inner walls to increase the size of the living spaces, reconfigure the kitchen, and create a fourth bedroom.
In the spirit of early twentieth century set dressers, we redid the interiors in a style that was extremely refined in both its design and materials. The closets and the kitchen are decorated with a walnut veneer, the doors and windows with brass hardware, and the bathrooms with a beautifully veined marble.
Our clients’ very precise tastes contributed significantly to the final result, through their selection of furniture and extraordinary works of art.
The visual qualities of the materials, especially the veining of the marble and the colour of the walnut, grant a sense of both sophistication and warmth to the interiors.
